Hey it’s Zayd! This is my final 20% blog and I have a lot to talk about. First things first, on Friday I worked on my Tri fold and I finished it. I put some pictures and a title on it. I also made some brownies to hand out during my presentation. So that means I accomplished finishing my Tri fold and baking some brownies this week. I struggled making the brownies because I didn’t get home till like nine o’clock at night so I had to make brownies then. It was hard but I was able to finish them. I didn’t make any adjustments to my schedule which was good since this is my last week/blog. During this experience I made several baked goods and I am glad to know that people have liked them. I have worked on my Tri fold, made a cake, brownies, fudge, and cookies, I watched several baking videos, and I’ve researched many recipes. This was a stressful experience but that’s what made it fun. Thanks for reading my blogs!
My Memories
During this school year I have made many memories. Here are three of my favorite ones. My first favorite memory was meeting all the new people. Since this is my first year at my new school, I’ve had to make many new friends. One of my favorite friends is JJ. He is really nice and I love hanging out with him. One of my other awesome friends is Gavin. He is really awesome and nice. My second favorite memory was bringing fudge for my friends at school. For my twenty percent project I did baking and I made some fudge but my mom said it had too much sugar so she made me take it all to school. All of my friends loved it so I’m happy that they thought it tasted good. My last memory that I’m going to share is doing the Knights at the Museum. That was really fun getting to go and present my project. It was also fun seeing what my friends did. There are so many more memories that I would like to share but I wouldn’t be able to fit them all into this blog so there are my top three.
How Much Is Enough?
When you say something is not enough, it really is just a point view. But, what really is enough? The kid on the left of the picture has so many things but is still crying. The kid on the right has just a tiny little wood car but is so happy. Considering the fact that maybe the kid on the left is just a brat then that would make more sense. I think that the more you get something the less grateful you should be. But the less you get the more grateful you will be when you get something. Sometimes I am ungrateful and after I feel bad. I know that I should be grateful and nowadays I always am. I feel like the more toys and video games that are created, the more we think we need. In reality we don’t need much. But when we get something we expect more and more and more.
20% Project Week Five: Baking
Hello it’s Zayd and this is my fifth 20% project blog. This week I accomplished making a cake. I adjusted my plan because I decided not to make a video for my presentation. I’m just going to have a tri fold and a script. Something I struggled with was mixing the cake ingredients. The recipe says that you have to leave your stand mixer in for 7-8 minutes after adding some eggs but I don’t have a stand mixer I only have a hand mixer. A hand mixer is where it’s basically a stand mixer but you have to hold it and move it in circles. So I struggled doing that for so long. I wasn’t able to work on my tri fold either because I want able to get mine so I’ll have to work on that next week. I have some pictures of the things I made that I’m going to print out so I can put them on my tri fold. Thanks for reading.
Rad Reading – April
This month I read Star Wars: So You Want To Be A Jedi? By Adam Gidwitz. This book takes place during the movie The Empire Strikes Back. In this book, you are the main character. The story is that you have to walk in the shoes of Luke Skywalker and train to be a Jedi. So Luke Skywalker has this base on a planet called Hoth and is hiding from the Empire with the Rebellion. When the Empire finds out that the Rebels are hiding there they send their whole fleet to attack them. The Rebels escape but Luke Skywalker goes on a different mission. He flys to this unknown planet called Dagobah where he is supposed to meet a Jedi Master named Yoda. Yoda trains him in the way of the Jedi. Then Luke senses that his friends are in danger. Luke goes to help his friends and confronts Darth Vader. At the end of the battle Vader tells Luke a horrible truth.
I think you should read this book because it tells the story of a Star Wars movie which is awesome! Also, I think it’s cool to see it from the main characters perspective and see what he’s thinking. I also like how the author added a few extra things to the story that aren’t in the movie. In conclusion, this is why I recommend this book.
My favorite character is Lando Calrissian. Lando is my favorite character because I think he’s funny and nice. When we first meet him he seems nice but then he hands them over to Vader. In the end, Lando helps all of them escape (except for Han Solo) and ends up being a nice guy. One of Lando’s character traits is he’s nice. A quote that proves this is “This deal is getting worse all the time.” This quote proves that he’s nice because he never wanted to hurt anybody, he only wanted his people to be safe. These are the reasons why I think Lando is the best character.
My favorite quote from this book is “No. Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try.” This is my favorite quote because it is a very famous quote and it also has a lot of meaning. It states that you shouldn’t try something, you should do it. Or don’t do it.
My Favorite Room
If I had to pick one room in my house as my favorite I would pick the living room. My living room has one big couch that turns on the corner and stretches out two ways. I have a TV facing the couch so we can all watch TV. The TV is pretty big so it fills up most of the wall. In the corner we have a little coffee table that is round, silver, and opens up. We store our blankets in there. In the other corner we have a little shelf with a drawer. Next to the shelf we have a chair that can recline. This is my favorite room because I get to hang out with my family in there after dinner and watch TV. I like to sit on the couch in the living room while I read sometimes. Sometimes on the weekends I wake up early to go downstairs and just watch TV before my family wakes up. Most of the time my sister is already downstairs by the time I wake up anyway so I just have to sit and watch whatever goofy show she’s watching.
20% Project Week Four: Baking
Hey guys it’s Zayd! For this week of my 20% project I didn’t do much except look up goofy recipes even though I already have chosen all of my recipes. I had to adjust my schedule because I was supposed to bake a cake this week but my sister was baking for this project for school and she was baking like all day and there was not enough time left. Next weekend I’m going to bake a cake for my presentation video. Something I accomplished this week was nothing really. Like I said I didn’t do much. I struggled with trying to work because someone kept annoying me while I was researching stuff. Next week I’m going to bake a cake and film my video for the presentation. I’m also going to work on my trifold and make it look nice with some pictures of the things I made. I’m also going to bake brownies to give out during my presentation. See you guys next time!
20% Project Week Three : Baking
Hi everyone! I’m here with my week three 20% project blog and I got some stuff to talk about. First of all, I was able to bake some fudge which is what I was going to bake last week. I accomplished making fudge for the first time. Something I struggled with was preparing all of my ingredients because I hade to chop up crackers and prepare some chocolate chips to be ready for when I need them. I had to make and adjustment because since I wasn’t here on Friday this week I couldn’t bring my fudge for people so on Wednesday next week I’m going to bring some fudge so my friends can try it. Next week I’m going bake a cake and film myself while I’m baking it, bring some fudge (Because my mom said it was too sweet!), and I’m going to watch more baking videos so I can make some good edits on my video.
20% Project Week Two: Baking
This week I watched some YouTube videos to find some tips and see the format for when I make my video. I accomplished nothing really this week. I only watched a few videos and that’s all. I was planning on making some dessert this weekend but I went on vacation and couldn’t do it. I’ll probably do it during the week or on the next weekend. Next weekend I have nothing planned so I’ll probably do it then. A struggle I had this week was not being able to bake anything. I really wanted to try and make something this week but I guess I’ll just have to do it next weekend. My adjustments were me changing my baking schedule. Next week I will be baking my baked good that I was supposed to bake this week and just watch more videos and take notes on what to add to my videos. Thanks for reading my blog. See you next week!
Best Dinner Ever!
There are a ton of people that I would invite to dinner, but these are my top three choices: Mbappe, Darth Vader, and Messi. Mbappe and Messi are both famous football/soccer players. Darth Vader is a villain from Star Wars and is awesome. I would invite Mbappe because Mbappe is good at soccer and would be fun to eat with at dinner. I would invite Darth Vader because he’s Darth Vader! Darth Vader is awesome but I would only invite him if he wasn’t evil during the dinner. So maybe he would have to be Anakin for a while. I would invite Messi because Messi is really good at soccer and would be fun to eat with. There are tons of other people I would also like to invite like my friends, other Star Wars characters, family members, and many more. But these are my top three people I would invite to dinner.
